How to update your nameservers at Register.com

In this article, we are going to show you how you can update the nameservers for a domain name that is registered at Register.com.

What are the HostDash nameservers?

All of our servers operate in a DNS cluster setup using the nameservers:

• ns1.providedns.com
• ns2.providedns.com

If you are using HostDash for your web hosting services, you will need to use the nameservers referenced above during this guide.

Updating your domain nameservers at Register.com

The first step is to log in to your Register.com account. To do so, visit register.com and click on the Log In located in the top right navigation menu.

Once logged in, you should be redirected to the Register dashboard.

From the left navigation menu, click Domain Name as shown below.

If you only have a single domain name you will automatically be taken to your active domain. If you have multiple domains, you will see a table containing all of your domains in which case you should click on the domain name you would like to update the nameservers for.

Scroll down the page until you see a section called Advanced Tools. Click on this title to expand the Advanced Tools options.

You should now see 3 options, with the most-left option being Nameservers (DNS). From here, click on the Manage button.

In the popup that appears, in the box Nameserver 1 enter: ns1.providedns.com and for Nameserver 2 enter: ns2.providedns.com.

The outcome should be the same as shown below.

Once ready, click Save.

After a couple minutes refresh the page on Register.com to verify the nameservers has been updated successfully. The end result should be as shown below.

And that is it! Nameserver changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate globally, though usually this process completes within a few hours.
